Senator Mitt Romney visited Bonnell’s Clearfield, Utah site for a town hall with employees to listen to their concerns and needs in operating a manufacturing company in Utah. Brook Hamilton, Guy Charpentier and Carl Czarnik sat down with Senator Romney to discuss trade issues that are negatively impacting the Clearfield plant and the aluminum extrusions industry at large. Senator Romney agreed to sign a bipartisan letter regarding reform of the Generally Accepted Exclusions (GAEs) in the section 232 tariffs to better protect aluminum extruders. Mr. Romney’s support for this bill has encouraged other senators to come forward with support.
